Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies is seeking an Automation Engineer IV in Menlo Park, CA. This 6‑month contractor role focuses on scaling test automation and CI/CD coverage for a datacenter product introductions team, involving BGP++, Open/R, fabrics, switches, and optics.

Responsibilities include automating end‑to‑end tests, building traffic‑generation tests, converting plans to automated suites, and gating releases via pipelines.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in software/network test automation or QA engineering.
  • Strong Python (test frameworks, scripting, debugging).
  • Hands‑on networking fundamentals: BGP, routing/forwarding, L2/L3, data‑plane vs. control‑plane concepts.
  • Experience with traffic generators (Ixia, Keysight, or equivalent).
  • CI/CD pipeline experience and comfort working in a Linux environment with source control.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Datacenter Product Introductions team is looking to scale its test automation and CI/CD coverage to keep pace with new product introductions. The role involves expanding test and automation for solutions involving BGP++, Open/R, Fabrics, Switches, and Optics.

  • 5-8+ years in software/network test automation or QA engineering.
  • Strong Python (test frameworks, scripting, debugging).
  • Hands‑on networking fundamentals: BGP, routing/forwarding, L2/L3, data‑plane vs. control‑plane concepts.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience and comfort working in a Linux environment with source control.
  • Experience with traffic generators (Ixia, Keysight, or equivalent).
Nice‑to‑have Skills
  • Exposure to Open/R, BGP, ECMP/UCMP, or large‑scale DC fabric topologies.
  • Experience qualifying network hardware/optics or vendor NOS (e.g., Arista EOS).
  • Familiarity with lab automation, device provisioning, or scale/performance testing.

Years of Experience: 5-7 years in software/network test automation or QA engineering.

Degrees/Certifications Required: Bachelor of Science or Network Engineering.
