Job summary

LOOP Marine Terminal in Louisiana seeks an Automation Specialist to develop, design, program, and commission instrumentation and control systems. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, flow computers, and PID loops to support operations, maintenance, SCADA, and engineering teams.

The role emphasizes high-level troubleshooting, project coordination for capital/expense projects, and collaboration with contractors to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery of instrumentation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related tech field.
• Strong troubleshooting and failure analysis skills.
• Experience with instrumentation and control systems.
• Knowledge of SCADA, PLC, HMI, and cyber security basics.

Responsibilities

• Provide input into LOOP's technology strategy and support lifecycle replacements.
• Support engineering on projects with instrumentation/controls requirements.
• Manage projects within Instrumentation and Controls group.
• Provide high-level technical support for maintenance, operations, SCADA, and customers.
• Troubleshoot systems, develop configurations, and perform testing (FAT, SAT).
• Develop secure data interfacing configurations for internal/external customers.
• Interface with network engineers on OT connections and cybersecurity.
• Calibrate and program instrumentation and control devices.
• Develop and edit documentation (IO lists, P&IDs, charts, wiring diagrams).
• Support Management of Change (MOC) for instrumentation/control devices.
