Job summary

JLL in Windsor, CT is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for industrial processes and warehouse equipment. The role requires expertise in PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks, and SCADA, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will mentor apprentices and collaborate with operations and engineering teams to optimize MHE systems, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or knowledge equivalent to a 4-year degree.
• Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor less experienced automation engineers.
• Proficiency in CMMS use, troubleshooting, and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Advanced English skills with ability to interpret and communicate policies.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience with PLC programming, HMI design, SCADA, and KPIs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as site technical expert in automation control systems and mentor Apprentices.
• Design, develop, implement, and optimize control systems and software; troubleshoot equipment.
• Adhere to Automation Change Management procedures and documentation requirements.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and support teams to optimize MHE systems.
• Monitor MHE metrics, analyze performance, and lead troubleshooting work remotely.
• Conduct root cause analyses and drive continuous improvement projects.
• Communicate technical issues and timelines to leadership and stakeholders.
