Omaha Public Power District is seeking an Automation Engineer II to help design, operate, and improve district automation and control systems. You will support substation automation, SCADA functionality, and protection system coordination across distribution and transmission levels.

The role requires 3-phase power knowledge, electrical schematics, and experience with SCADA systems. Travel to service locations is expected as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of 3-phase power and electrical schematics.
• Experience working with SCADA systems.
• Ability to analyze operational data and provide actionable insights.
• Experience with substation automation designs or relay coordination.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate automation and protection systems of moderate complexity, including SCADA values and basic relay commands.
• Analyze operational data (including SCADA and SER), identify trends, and document findings to support corrective actions.
• Apply utility automation methods and protocols to enhance system reliability and data accuracy.
• Develop engineering deliverables that support project planning, execution, and decision making.
• Identify process-improvement opportunities and contribute to enhancements in technical quality and workflow efficiency.
• Support compliance activities and apply working knowledge of IT/OT integration concepts.
