Job summary
Tesco Controls, a UFT company, is seeking an Automation Engineer to design complete industrial electrical/control panels, validate designs, and support PLC/SCADA implementations at customer sites.
You will work across the engineering lifecycle, travel up to 10%, and collaborate with Manufacturing and Project Management to deliver robust control systems for water and wastewater projects.
Qualifications
- Degree in electrical/controls/automation engineering or related field.
- 3–8 years in industrial automation or OEM controls.
- Experience with model-based design tools and at least one major PLC environment.
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA platforms and industrial networks.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% and work in a hands-on manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Design complete industrial electrical/control panels in SolidWorks.
- Coordinate model validation and resolve listing issues for production.
- Develop PLC and SCADA/HMI applications and configurations.
- Configure industrial networks and telemetry systems.
- Create control-system documentation and FAT/commissioning records.
- Participate in factory and customer site testing, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with Project Management on tasks, priorities, and schedules.
- Visit Sacramento facility bi-weekly when assigned panels are in fabrication or test.
