Job summary
Keystone Distinction Group is seeking an Automation Engineer - Drives & Controls near Syracuse, NY. The role focuses on controls software development, PLC programming, HMI creation, and network architecture to support automated equipment systems.
The candidate will configure drive systems, integrate legacy controls, and perform system testing, startup, and commissioning. Travel up to 30% is required, with both domestic and occasional international assignments.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, required.
- 3–5+ years of controls or automation engineering experience.
- Experience programming Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC drive systems and industrial control networks.
- Experience with HMI development and supervisory control systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and industrial automation software.
- Ability to travel approximately 30%, including domestic and occasional international travel.
Responsibilities
- Develop controls software: PLC programming, HMI development, PLC network architecture.
- Configure AC/DC drive systems and integrate legacy controls.
- Perform system testing, validation, startup and commissioning.
- Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting and technical support.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports.
- Support sales with applications studies and cross-functional collaboration.
