Job summary

Carmeuse Lime & Stone Inc. seeks an Automation Engineer Co-Op for a 6-month, full-time assignment. You will support automation projects and the automation team through conceptual design, basic engineering, document generation, and plant support.

Collaborating with process and automation professionals, you will gain hands-on experience, work cross-functionally with plant staff, and develop skills in electrical systems, PLC programming, and project documentation while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, computer science/engineering, Mechatronics or related field (or an Associate’s degree in Engineering/CS).
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel domestically.
• Familiarity with traditional PLC programming languages is preferred.
• Ability to deliver timely results in a safe work environment.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Support Automation projects and Automation team during conceptual design and basic engineering development.
• Develop and manage documentation, validation, drawings, updates and storage; assist in problem resolution.
• Collaborate with plant team, process engineers, project managers and contractors to meet learning and development goals.
• Assist with troubleshooting and performance enhancements of electrical systems.
