C & J Industries Inc in Meadville, PA is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our plastics manufacturing team. We design, build, and maintain automation systems including PLCs, SCADA, and robotics to optimize production lines.

You will analyze requirements, program automation, troubleshoot downtime, ensure safety standards, and document configurations. A strong engineering background and experience with automation in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Mechanical/Automation or related field.
• Experience with automation systems in manufacturing, preferably plastics.
• Ability to read 2D/3D drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with robotics, sensors, actuators and control systems.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team in the plastic manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinates activities concerned with automation developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design.
• Reviews customer information to determine any new automation requirements/unique part handling/conveyance requirements.
• Accepts responsibility for tracking budgets and monitors delivery dates for all automation being fabricated internally or outsourced.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize automation workflows.
• Program and maintain PLCs, SCADA systems, and robotics used in production lines.
• Conduct testing and validation of automation equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Document automation processes, procedures, and system configurations.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging automation technologies relevant to plastics manufacturing.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field
• Proven experience with automation systems in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics or similar industries
• Able to interpret engineering drawings. Some 2D and 3D CAD proficiency expected.
• Knowledge of robotics, sensors, actuators, and control systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in manufacturing environments
