Job summary

Acestack in Jersey City, NJ is seeking an Automation Engineer to design and maintain Playwright-based automation frameworks. You will develop Python scripts and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines using VS Code tooling.

You’ll drive automation maturity, improve framework performance, and enable regression testing within Agile teams, covering cross-browser scenarios and the full SDLC lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software testing with automation focus.
• Hands-on automation development experience in Python.
• Strong Playwright expertise and cross-browser testing.
• Experience with PyTest and CI/CD integration.
• Familiarity with VS Code as IDE and Playwright CLI.
• AI-assisted development tools usage (GitHub Copilot).
• Understanding of SDLC, QA lifecycle, and banking domain knowledge.

Playwright automation framework, Python, AI-assisted development tools ( GitHub, Copilot), Pytest, Python-based testing framework, CI/CD Pipelines, Agile/scrum , UFT/Selenium

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsible for

Building and maintaining robust Playwright-based automation frameworks

Developing automated test scripts in Python

Integrating solutions into CI/CD pipelines using modern tooling within Visual studio code

Drive test automation adoption and maturity

Improve framework performance and reliability

Reduce manual effort through automation and AI-assisted development

Enable regression and in-sprint testing

Required Skills:

7+ years of software testing experience with strong focus on automation

7+ years of hands-on automation development experience

Strong experience with Playwright automation framework

Hands-on coding experience in Python for test automation

Experience using Visual studio code (VD Code) as primary IDE

Experience with Playwright CLI / Command-line driven test execution

Proven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks (Modular, reusable, scalable)

Solid understanding of API Testing and UI automation strategies

Experience in PyTest or similar python-based testing frameworks

Experience in CI/CD pipelines and integrating automation into build workflows

Experience in AI-assisted development tools (Github, Copilot)

Experience in in-sprint automation strategies.

Familiarity with cross-browser and cross-platform testing approaches

Deep understanding of SDLC and QA lifecycle (Testing planning, Test design, Execution, Defect tracking and reporting)

Domain Knowledge of banking / financial systems.
