Insight Global is seeking an Automation Engineer for a leading enterprise client. This role focuses on building and maintaining scalable automation solutions to support infrastructure and database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Ansible, shell scripting, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL. They will work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, contributing to automation initiatives, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring system reliability. This individual should be a proactive problem solver with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in both independent and team-based settings.

Day-to-Day

• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and Shell scripting
• Manage and support PostgreSQL/MySQL databases
• Automate system administration and operational processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Use Jira for tracking tasks, bugs, and workflow management
• Troubleshoot and resolve system, automation, and database-related issues
• Continuously improve automation frameworks and operational efficiency
• Document processes, solutions, and system configurations

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Automation Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible
• Strong Shell scripting skills
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL databases
• Solid automation and infrastructure scripting background
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum framework and practices
• Hands-on experience with Jira (and similar tools like Horizon if applicable)
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
