Job summary

Daedalus Industrial in Greenville, SC is seeking an Electrical Technician, Automation to assemble and wire control panels and field devices for our custom automation equipment. You will support fabrication through startup and commissioning while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will read electrical drawings, install PLCs, sensors, drives, and cabling, and work with project engineers across fabrication, FAT, installation, and commissioning activities. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in electrical systems, industrial maintenance, or automation preferred.
• 2+ years of industrial electrical, control panel, machine wiring, or automation experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with industrial control components, sensors, motors, drives, and automation equipment.
• Proficiency with electrical hand tools and test equipment.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, and UL 508A practices preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with engineering and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire industrial control panels according to electrical drawings and company standards.
• Install and terminate PLCs, I/O, drives, power supplies, relays, safety devices, terminal blocks, and other control components.
• Wire motors, sensors, actuators, operator stations, safety devices, instrumentation, and other field-mounted equipment.
• Install and route power, control, and communication cabling on custom machines and automation systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• Perform point-to-point verification, continuity checks, and electrical checkout prior to system startup.
• Troubleshoot and correct electrical wiring and component issues during fabrication, FAT, installation, and commissioning.
• Support equipment installation, startup, FAT, and SAT activities as required.
• Document field modifications and communicate drawing changes to the Project Engineer.
• Identify and communicate material shortages, design conflicts, and constructability issues.
• Maintain high standards for electrical workmanship, organization, and safety.
• Work collaboratively with Project Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Controls Engineers, and mechanical assembly personnel.
