Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer – Automation & Data to develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing systems at Garnet Operations, with emphasis on connecting equipment, data collection, dashboards, and automation to improve efficiency and decision making.

This on-site role supports Hillsborough, NJ and Easton, PA sites, focusing on Liquid Phase Epitaxy (LPE) manufacturing and hands-on system integration across operations, engineering, IT, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or related technical discipline (from Education & Experience).
• Experience with manufacturing equipment, automation, databases, or industrial data systems (from Education & Experience).

Responsibilities

• Equipment connectivity and data acquisition: support network and data collection for LPE systems at Hillsborough and Easton; enable data collection from new equipment.
• LPE dashboard development: build dashboards showing equipment status, process performance, alarms, trends, and data.
• Manufacturing database systems: assist with Hillsborough database migration from Access and create interfaces between equipment, databases, dashboards and analytics tools.
• Manufacturing automation: reduce manual data entry and improve data accuracy via automated data capture and data transfer.
• Data analytics & advanced manufacturing: develop automated production reports, analyze data to identify trends and drivers, and support AI-assisted tools for analysis.
