Day Shift :
Performs inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance procedures on material handling equipment, including but not limited to carton conveying equipment, pallet conveying equipment, cranes, and physical building structures within our automated warehouse. Works independently on tasks and as part of a team on work or projects as assigned by the lead or supervisor. Performs diagnostics using formal documentation, electrical prints, and mechanical drawings to analyze, improve, and repair equipment. Adheres to all safety practices and maintains a safe working environment at all times.
Essential Duties :
- Diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs. Report problems to lead or supervisor.
- Disassemble, inspect, and perform routine repairs and rebuilds of defective parts on all equipment.
- Reassemble and test machines to verify repairs.
- Maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment.
- Clean machines and apply paint to prevent corrosion.
- Install or recharge batteries for battery-powered equipment.
- Operate and store ARC and MIG welding equipment safely, including OXY/ACETYLENE and plasma welding and cutting tools.
- Perform basic electrical tasks, such as replacing motors, fuses, and switches.
- Troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment, including sorters, conveyors, and cranes. Identify issues requiring outside vendors and inform supervisor.
- Evaluate system-critical devices like high-speed sorters and scanners.
- Utilize Maximo computerized maintenance management system to monitor, report, and document equipment usage and parts replacement.
- Replace defective parts or reproduce parts as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on power lift equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on facilities, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED preferred; required for all ASRS Maintenance positions, with additional level-specific requirements.
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Level II requires two years of industrial or commercial maintenance experience.
- Ability to operate shop tools such as grinders, drill presses, cutting torches, and welding machines.
- Adhere to all safety practices and maintain a safe work environment.
- Ability to reach up to 77 inches frequently.
Physical Demands :
- Regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
- Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl regularly.
- Reach and handle objects, tools, or controls.
