This position will be located at our Derek R. Guthrie Water Quality Treatment Center.
Provides installation, hardware and software support for industrial automated process Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems throughout the MSD Operations Division. Performs hardware installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and basic programming, configuration and troubleshooting of PLCs, OITs, electrical controls, process instrumentation, network/telemetry components and SCADA/HMI systems ensuring Operations Technology (OT) level of service is maintained to the organization. Creates, analyzes, and maintains documentation for regulatory compliance, telemetry hardware, process control hardware, automation, P&ID diagrams, electrical schematics and network layouts. Assists with final checkout on equipment installed by contractors.

Creates, analyzes and maintains all documentation and historical data associated with the industrial automated process SCADA systems. Provides intermediate support to engineering, consultants, contractors, and other MSD divisions to support projects. Provides design review, integration and final checkout for industrial automated process SCADA systems.

Provides design review, integration, final checkout and approval for industrial automated process SCADA systems.
Knowledge of electronics, electrical controls, VFDs, NEC electrical code, and ISA design Standards; knowledge of wastewater processes and equipment, pumps, valves, gates, blowers, grinders, filters, etc.; knowledge of process instrumentation (Pressure, Level, Flow, temperature, environmental detection and analytical); knowledge of correct and safe usage of electrical and electronic test equipment; knowledge of industrial controls and business level local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN) Layer 2 and 3 Network switches, routers, telemetry radios and modems; knowledge of installation and testing of fiberoptic and copper media communications media; knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Operator Interface Terminal ( OIT) configuration and programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens), and Rockwell software (RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk Linx, RS Linx, Siemens S7200, RSView Studio, FactoryTalk View); knowledge of SCADA software and graphic design (GE Proficy IFIX); knowledge of installing and maintaining computers, servers, and associated components; skill in utilizing instrumentation software (Flow ware (flodar) Field Care, Accusonic, and Ultra Scan); skill in oral and written communication; skill in operating a PC and associated Windows environment software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite); skill in utilizing SAP, Workforce and IPS; ability to resolve problems; ability to manage multiple priorities; ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, flow diagrams, blueprints, P&ID and instrument loop diagrams, process instrument specifications and vendor publications; ability to be courteous and helpful under pressure; ability to work effectively under heavy, unpredictable surges in workload; ability to work 24-hour emergency response, various shifts, weekends and mandatory overtime.
Associate degree in computer science, electrical technology, electronics, engineering technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field; four or more years of related electrical controls and process instrumentation experience, including at least two years of process automation and controls experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Completion of a state certified electrical apprenticeship counts as two years of related experience. Must be ISA CCST Level I certified or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of obtaining the position. ISA CCST Level II Certification is preferred. Electrical License is preferred. Must meet job skills assessment requirements. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have safe work and driving habits. Must have an acceptable and reliable means of being contacted during off-duty hours.
