Bimbo Bakeries USA in Breinigsville, PA, seeks an Automation Controls Specialist to support a fast-paced, highly automated facility. You will work with the latest Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs to keep production running safely and efficiently.

You will review plant metrics, lead a small team of technicians, and troubleshoot electrical and control systems in a food processing environment. Prior experience in automation and Rockwell software is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in automation controls in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley software and PLCs.
• Strong electrical knowledge and ability to read schematics.

Actual starting salary will be determined based on internal pay equity to promote consistency and fairness across comparable roles, while also considering the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.What You Will Be Doing:Provide automation controls support to a highly automated and fast paced baking, or distribution facility.The position will require experience with the latest versions of the Allen Bradley family of PLC’s, VFD’s and HMI’s/OIT’s to be used in conjunction with a strong understanding of electrical controls systems, mechanical drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, PC’s, Robotics, and Controls networks.Review key plant metrics/KPIs and equipment data to identify potential areas for continuous improvement then lead a team to develop an engineered solutionProvide electrical troubleshooting and industrial controls support to the maintenance departmentWhat We Will Need From You:Provide leadership and, or training to one or two other automation technicians.Promote a strong teamwork environmentSupports without hesitation General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes & are Priority #1.Work requires the ability to read, write and communicate in English in order to understand and follow work and safety instructions.Capable of moving up and down building stairways in a multi-level plant to reach job assignments and perform the tasks required.Worker will be exposed to all hazards of machinery and equipment in an operational baking environmentThis position is not a relief/fill-in Supervisor for Maintenance Supervisor absenceEducation and Work Experience:EE Degree, or equivalentThree, or more years’ experience in the Automation fieldA combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.Equipment specific knowledge may be required based on locationStrong experience with the following software packages Rockwell Controls SoftwareAutoCad (Preferred)Microsoft OfficeStrong overall electrical knowledge and experience with electrical and industrial control systems.Excellent communication skills and effective team building skills a mustExperience in a food processing plant is a plusThe physical and mental demands described in each job posting are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of each job.
