Job description

Selectek is seeking a qualified Automation Controls Programmer for a full-time role with a client in Minneapolis, MN.

Employment Type: Direct Hire
Location: Northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota
Expected Pay Range: $70,000 - $130,000 annual salary
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Travel: 50% non‑overnight travel within Minneapolis area, 20% overnight travel within the Midwest.

Job Requirements

• 2 years of programming experience in PLC or HMI programming, such as Allen‑Bradley RSLogix 500 and 5000, Modicon, Siemens S7, GE PAC systems or the like.
• HMI programming such as Wonderware, FactoryTalk View, Cimplicity, Intellution or the like.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of co‑workers, management, and clients.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, excellent attention to detail, and willingness to learn new technologies quickly.

Preferred

• Ability to program PLC from scratch is highly preferred but not required.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a 2‑year Associate’s degree in an automation‑related field.
• Information Technology experience is a plus.

Job Duties

• PLC and HMI code development primarily for municipal water and wastewater SCADA systems.
• Control system commissioning, including instrumentation and motor control devices.
• Communications network commissioning, including fiber optic, radio telemetry, broadband, and other associated technologies.
• Manage all project documentation per company standards and project‑specific requirements.
• Communicate with customers throughout the design and construction phases as well as for aftermarket support.
