Job summary

Warn Automotive is seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to design, qualify, and release test equipment automation and control systems. The role emphasizes motor and servo systems, PC interfaces, and robust engineering practices.

You will work across functions to meet milestones, document specifications, and maintain compliance while mentoring teammates and supporting new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Five years of automation controls engineering experience.
• Five years of experience with automation systems including industrial motors, VFDs, servo systems, PLCs, equipment wiring, and PC interfaces.
• Degree in an applied science field or equivalent industrial experience and training certification.
• Excellent MS Office skills (Projects, PowerPoint, Visio) and documentation ability.
• Ability to translate vague customer requirements into specific engineering specifications.
• Experience with project scheduling and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Designs, analyzes, modifies, and maintains test equipment automation and control systems.
• Deploys and debugs automation controls hardware and software.
• Develops technical documentation including requirements, specs, settings, manuals, and guidelines.
• Provides sustaining engineering support for old and new equipment.
• Supervises construction of automated test equipment and validates performance.
• Manages contractor resources including engineering services.
• Supports team training and mentoring.
• Supports new product introduction processes.
• Manages multiple projects and tracks milestones, status, and risks.
• Communicates project status, design challenges, and constraints to leadership.
• Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls and internal process requirements.
• Develops and monitors processes for legal and ethical compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
