Job summary

Astranis is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineering Associate for Summer 2027 to help build the automated test infrastructure used to stress satellite hardware during environmental testing. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, supporting test systems from design through commissioning with experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• Experience with electrical circuits, sensors, data acquisition, or instrumentation.
• Strong Python proficiency and hands-on hardware debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Support design, build, integration, and commissioning of automated test systems for spacecraft hardware and ground-support equipment.
• Own electrical controls hardware, including control panels, wiring, sensors, actuators, relays, power distribution, DAQ systems, and safety interlocks.
• Integrate automated systems with environmental test equipment (thermal, thermal-vacuum, vibration, pumps, valves, programmable controllers).
• Collaborate with environmental test, mechanical, electrical, reliability, manufacturing, and software teams to build safe, repeatable test solutions.
