Job summary

Channel Personnel Services seeks a mid- to senior-level industrial controls engineer in Detroit to design and implement automated control systems with both automatic and manual modes, and to develop HMIs for operator control and monitoring.

You will establish and maintain a Factory Information System for real-time data access, integrate standalone components into centralized controls, troubleshoot PLCs, drives, instrumentation, and network infrastructure, and support commissioning of new

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
3+ years in industrial controls and automation.
Experience with AB ControlLogix PLCs, PowerFlex drives, and HMI platforms (PanelView, Wonderware, Ignition).
Experience with SCADA, networking, and Windows/VMware infrastructure.
CMMS experience.

Responsibilities

Design and implement automated control systems with both automatic and manual modes.
Develop and integrate HMIs for operator control and monitoring.
Establish and maintain a Factory Information System for real-time data access across mine operations.
Provide technical support for integrating standalone components into centralized control systems.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure system reliability and safety.
Troubleshoot and optimize PLCs, drives, instrumentation, and network infrastructure.
Support commissioning of new equipment and capital projects.
Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
