Job summary
Owens Corning is seeking an Automation and Electrical Controls Engineer to lead safety-driven automation maintenance at the Blythewood facility. The role drives improvements in safety, productivity, quality, and cost while supporting maintenance teams and operations.
The engineer will develop training, lead electrical and control system enhancements, and ensure reliable power and control architectures across the plant. Strong PLC/HMI skills and SAP PM experience are valued.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent training, knowledge and experience.
- Three years of experience in controls or electrical engineering.
- Strong safety awareness and leadership.
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution from 25.5 kV to 480V.
- Knowledge of 3-Phase AC motor theory and Rockwell systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety for an injury-free work environment and enforce safety standards.
- Develop and execute training plans for maintenance personnel.
- Lead automation maintenance operations including troubleshooting and repair.
- Identify opportunities for reliability, performance, and cost improvements.
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs using SAP.
- Identify capital projects and manage them in partnership with maintenance.
