A growing industrial automation company is seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineer to oversee the design, development, and commissioning of custom automated systems. This hands-on role provides full project ownership, including the design of electrical control systems and programming. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of controls engineering experience in a machine building or OEM environment.
• Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, controls, and robotics.
• Effective communication skills for customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems including power distribution and safety circuits.
• Develop PLC, HMI, and robot programs from scratch for custom automation systems.
• Lead customer runoffs and troubleshoot during build and commissioning.

Skills

PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal)

Robot programming experience (Fanuc)

HMI development (Allen‑Bradley, GE)

Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, Profibus)

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience

Tools

AutoCAD Electrical

Machine vision systems (Cognex and/or Fanuc iRVision)
