Automationtechies in Saint Paul, MN seeks an experienced Automation & Controls Engineer to lead design, development, and deployment of PLC/HMI apps on Logix platforms. You will work on motion control, conveyors, and integration with MES/WMS, performing FAT/SAT, startup, and ongoing support.
The role emphasizes hands‑on engineering, collaboration with senior automation staff, and delivering scalable automation solutions across industries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; equivalent practical experience considered.
- 8+ years of hands-on controls engineering in manufacturing/OEM/heavy industry.
- Expert-level proficiency with Allen-Bradley platforms (ControlLogix/GuardLogix) and HMI tools.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy PLC and HMI/SCADA applications using Allen‑Bradley platforms.
- Program and commission high‑speed motion systems with multi‑axis synchronization.
- Design and optimize material handling, conveyors, AGV/AMR integrations, and MES/WMS interfaces.
- Perform FAT/SAT, startup, commissioning, and ongoing support for automation projects.
- Develop and maintain control philosophy, I/O lists, and engineering documentation.
