Job description

Automation Controls Engineer

As a leading provider of automotive occupant safety solutions, Autoliv North America is seeking talented individuals who share our passion for passenger safety and are eager to expand their skills.

What you’ll do:
  1. Analyze, research, design, develop, and test equipment, materials, and processes.
  2. Develop modeling and measuring techniques, troubleshoot machine control problems, and facilitate software and process design to meet customer needs.
  3. Apply knowledge of mathematics, statistical methods, engineering principles, and physics.
What is required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with control networks such as Ethernet/IP, DH+, DeviceNet, GPIB, and Profibus.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems, electrical/control technology, RS232 and RS485 protocols, vision and barcode scanning systems, servo controllers and systems, and analog/digital signals.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in control software, programming, and hardware issues.
  • Experience with robotics setup, application, and manipulation.
  • Ability to establish automation standards aligned with current technology.
  • Preferably, five years of automation control programming experience with PLC ladder logic systems.
