Job summary

Blucor in Lawrenceville, GA, is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to assist engineers in evaluating, selecting, ordering, installing, and testing manufacturing equipment. You will design modifications and maintain procedures for automated processes, troubleshoot, and drive performance improvements.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, overtime willingness, and strong AutoCAD/SolidWorks skills, plus PLC/HMI programming and NEC/NFPA knowledge.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Willing to work occasional overtime.
• Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering to create and maintain automated processes.
• Strong in AutoCAD; SolidWorks to produce technical plans and drawings.
• Strong ability to program PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks (Omron PLC, Omron & Proface HMI a plus).
• Strong proficiency in setting up and programming VFDs.
• Knowledge of NEC and NFPA regulations for electrical panels design/modification.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently under tight deadlines.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking) and proficient with Office 365.

Job Description

Responsible for assisting higher-level engineers in evaluating, selecting, ordering, installing, setting up, designing modifications for, testing, troubleshooting, improving performance, and establishing maintenance procedures for manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Must be willing and able to work occasional overtime.
• Good understanding of the electrical, mechanical, and software engineering principles to create and maintain automated processes.
• Strong in AutoCAD, used to produce technical plans, blueprints, electrical layouts, drawings, and models required. SolidWorks.
• Strong ability to program PLC’s, HMIs, and industrial networks. (Omron PLC, Omron & Proface HMI are a plus).
• Strong proficiency in setting up and programming VFD’s.
• Working knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to produce various products. (Experience in chemical manufacturing process/powder handling is a plus.)
• Ability to do electrical design for construction of new and modification of existing electrical panels (Properly size wires, breakers, components, etc. Follow NEC and NFPA regulations).
• Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously and independently under tight deadlines with driven and cost-effective results.
• Strong analytical, math, data-analysis, problem-solving/root cause analysis, research, and project management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels in a diverse environment and adapt to different interpersonal styles and communication methods.
• Effective communication skills (fluent in English: reading, writing, and speaking) and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, primarily Excel).
