Job summary

Stark Pharma Solutions Inc. seeks an Automation & Controls Engineer to support startup, testing, commissioning, and ongoing operation of a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Indiana. You will work across PLC-based controls, DeltaV, and BMS, ensuring GMP-compliant execution and site safety.

The role requires hands-on PLC troubleshooting, field support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet commissioning and turnover milestones.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with industrial automation, controls, PLCs, BMS, or facility automation systems.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and systems.
• Experience with Rockwell/AB, Siemens, or Modicon PLCs.
• Strong understanding of control systems, instrumentation, I/O, alarms, interlocks, and industrial communications.
• Experience with DeltaV or other DCS platforms is a strong plus.
• Experience with Johnson Controls BMS is highly desirable.
• Experience in pharmaceutical/regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, test, and support automation and control systems for pharmaceutical utilities and facility infrastructure.
• Support commissioning, startup, functional testing, and troubleshooting of control systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC logic, I/O, communications, alarms, interlocks, sequences, and instrumentation.
• Support DeltaV and facility automation system testing and verification.
• Troubleshoot pumps, valves, motors, HVAC, water systems, and other facility utilities.
• Participate in field testing, equipment checkout, loop verification, and functional testing.
• Support test scripts, troubleshooting procedures, punch-list resolution, and system turnover.
• Collaborate with Automation, Engineering, Commissioning, Facilities, Validation, Quality, Operations, vendors, and system integrators.
• Support environmental controls and BMS systems, including HVAC, temperature, humidity, differential pressure, alarms, and air handling systems.
• Maintain appropriate documentation in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
• Ensure work follows GMP, safety, quality, and site procedures.

Job Overview

We are seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to support the startup, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and ongoing operation of a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role will support critical facility and utility systems across PLC-based controls, DeltaV, and Building Management Systems (BMS).

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, test, and support automation and control systems for pharmaceutical utilities and facility infrastructure.
• Support commissioning, startup, functional testing, and troubleshooting of control systems.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
• Experience supporting commissioning, startup, qualification, or facility turnover activities.
• Ability to troubleshoot automation issues directly in the field.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
