Job summary

Hy-Tek Intralogistics in Kentucky is seeking an Automation Commissioning Engineer I (ACE I) to lead site commissioning for conveyor and rack systems, provide on-site problem solving, and develop project-specific commissioning documentation.

The role requires 3+ years of mechanical and electrical experience with conveyors, strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency with AutoCAD, Word, Excel and Outlook, and the ability to interpret service manuals and perform wiring tasks.

Qualifications

• Technical writing skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support close out of commissioning punch lists.
• Support customer training on equipment and technologies.
• Provide weekly updates on project tasks.
• Ensure projects are executed with quality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with Project Management and System Engineers to understand As-Sold functionality.
• Adhere to all safety rules and procedures.

Job description

The Automation Commissioning Engineer I (ACE I), maximizes customer satisfaction by performing commissioning and project execution activities, which support customer goals. The ACE I will be responsible for all aspects of site commissioning, providing a high-quality on-site presence to assist in resolution of all mechanical and/or electrical issues, and support technical service trips as needed. In addition, the ACE I will provide timely, high quality service operations and maintain a professional image.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Present a professional image to customers and vendors.
• Develop project specific commissioning documentation.
• Support development of commissioning documentation based on installation and startup manuals, as new technologies are onboarded.
• Perform and lead system commissioning for conveyor and rack systems.
• Provide mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of conveyor systems during commissioning activities.
• Support mechanical installation of small conveyor systems and re-work or reconfiguration of existing systems.
• Support electrical installation, both high (480 volt) and low voltage, including the termination of wiring.
• Develop and support close out of commissioning punch list.
• Support customer training on equipment and various technologies
• Develop and supply weekly updates related to project specific tasks.
• Ensure operational excellence is achieved by executing all projects with quality and accuracy.
• Work with Project Management and System Engineers to understand As-Sold functionality of the system.
• Be a leader of and practice all rules regarding personal and job site safety.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred

• 3+ years of mechanical and electrical experience with conveyor systems is preferred.
• Demonstrate a high degree of communication and organizational skills to include the ability to apply logic and constructive thinking to solve problems.
• Aptitude and ability to analyze and interpret all mechanical and electrical information in service manuals.
• Ability to effectively use hand and power tools.
• Working knowledge of electrical power and control systems.Proficiency in software applications such as AutoCAD, Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
• Technical writing skills a plus.

Working Conditions

• Travel up to 90% or as needed.
• Some weekend/night work required as needed.
• Working in office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
• Working in a stationary position for an extended period.
• Moving or traversing for an extended period.
• Occasional ascending and descending scaffolding and/or mezzanines.
• Operating computers for an extended period.
• Possible exposure to noise levels exceeding recommended DBA levels.
• Occasional movement and positioning of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
