Job summary

Mural Group, in partnership with a global Tier 1 automotive supplier, seeks an Automation & Assembly Process Engineer for its Morganfield, Kentucky facility. You will own the integrated assembly process from commissioning through serial production, managing PLC/HMI, robotics, sensors, vision, and AI-inspection systems.

You will lead FAT/SAT, machine runoff, installation and production handover, drive throughput and uptime, and coordinate supplier actions while contributing to our digital-twin

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Controls Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in automated automotive manufacturing or similar industrial systems.
• Hands-on PLC/HMI, robotics, servo motion, sensors, and vision systems experience.
• Experience with equipment commissioning, supplier management, and production launches.
• Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and controls documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize the integrated assembly process and automation sequence.
• Own gantry, robotic, PLC/HMI, servo, sensor, vision, and AI-inspection system performance.
• Lead FAT, SAT, machine runoff, installation, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Drive throughput, automation uptime, cycle time, MTBF/MTTR improvements.
• Coordinate supplier actions and support digital-twin development.
