Job summary

AMADA is seeking an assembler for automation equipment in a fast-paced environment in High Point, NC. You will read blueprints, follow engineering drawings, and assemble components to precise tolerances. Training others on subsections of the automation build is expected.

You will perform quality checks, document defects, and adjust settings per schematics. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional overtime; safety PPE is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with assembly of machinery or automation equipment.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, drawings, and instructions.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Assemble machine parts according to instructions and timeframes.
  • Train others to build subsections of Automation Equipment.
  • Perform quality checks and document defects.
  • Adjust factory settings using schematics/engineering docs.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety policies.
  • Work beyond normal hours when necessary.

Job description

This position requires assembling many machine parts according to instructions and within a specific time frame, while using the appropriate tools and/or equipment according to safety and quality standards, as well as carrying out any other duties directed by the Leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately perform the assembly and wiring portion of the Automation build process.
  • Train other employees how to build the subsections of Automation Equipment.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work area within the specified time frame.
  • Perform adjustments needed to ensure factory settings and specifications using schematics and/or engineering documentation.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • May be required to climb using a safety harness or ladder up to 16' feet tall.
  • May be required to work beyond normal business hours when necessary.
  • Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, ISO policies and good manufacturing practices.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised at times.
  • Must adhere to all safety policies and wear required PPE.

PAY RANGE
  • $20.00-$25.00
SCHEDULE
  • Monday - Thursday
  • 6:45am - 5:30pm

  • Lead Person
  • Production Manager
SUBORDINATE STAFF
  • None
KNOWLEDGE
  • Sit Down Forklift and Overhead Crane experience is highly preferred.
  • Be able to use the metric system.
  • Must be a good communicator and listener.
  • Must be able to use Hand and Power Tools.
  • Must have previous heavy equipment/ machinery assembly experience.
  • Must know metric measurements.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must know metric measurements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, daily
  • Walk and stand on cement flooring throughout a 10 hour shift
  • Use fine motor skills to tighten bolts and wire.
  • Constant bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, grasping, twisting at the waist, reaching above the head & reaching outward and kneeling.
