Job summary

Convergix Automation Solutions is seeking an Automation & Robotics Technician to join our team in Fayetteville, AR. You will contribute to multiple projects daily, working with project teams to design fixtures, tooling, and cell layouts, and perform on-site troubleshooting of automation systems.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the role requires hands-on fabrication, welding, wiring, and experience with robotic applications.

Qualifications

• Licensed electrician with mechanical skills or a technician/engineer background.
• Proficiency in assembly and wiring of machine components.
• Expertise in pneumatic design and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical devices.
• Strong mechanical knowledge including tooling, fixtures, and machining.
• 5+ years in machine building and related hands-on work.
• Willingness to travel across the US and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Execute all phases of machine construction.
• Assemble all aspects from drawings/verbal instruction.
• Record changes to machine parts and assemblies.
• Provide direction to other builders.
• Fill in commissioning reports and organize prints.
• Debug entire machine with engineering as necessary.
• Modify parts and assemblies; interface with other departments.
• Install and service machines as needed.
• Travel as per project requirements.

The Role

As anAutomation & Robotics Technician, you will contribute to multiple projects daily. Working with the Project teams, you will provide input into mechanical designs to increase ease of build, functionality, and maintenance. You will contribute to the overall design of fixtures, tooling, end effectors and cell layouts in a collaborative environment. Complete assembly (mechanical and/or electrical) of machine components and perform onsite troubleshooting and adjustment and service work for Convergix’s automation systems. As the subject matter expert, you will provide input into appropriate solutions relating to rework items and offer cost reduction and improvement suggestions around the company’s internal standards. This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform machine parts and assembly modifications, interfacing with other departments as needed
• Install and service machines when needed
• Must be able to travel as per project requirements
• Perform any additional reasonable tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Licensed electrician with mechanical skills, licensed millwright with electrical knowledge or a technician/technologist/engineer with a penchant for hands on work.
• Proficiencyin assembly and/or wiring of machine components
• Expert in pneumatic design and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical devices
• Mechanical knowledge and experience (design, tooling, fixtures, experience with a machine builder, etc.)
• 5+ years of experience in machine building
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Must be knowledgeable in the proper use andselectionof tools and equipment
• Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; An Automation & Robotics Technician at Convergix should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada.
• A team player who alsopossessesthe drive and responsibility to work autonomously whenrequired.
• Proficiencyin fabrication including welding,machining,and control wiring.
• Exposure to robotic applications.
• Motivated and passionate about working with people and overcoming challenges through collaboration and a win-win paradigm.
• Works well with a variety of different people from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
• Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.
