Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer in Frisco, TX to lead the implementation, troubleshooting, optimization, and customer-facing execution of complex automation projects across high-performance industrial systems. You will own controls activities for large-scale machinery, coordinate with customers and internal teams, and drive system performance improvements.

The role requires a bachelor's in engineering, 5+ years in automation or related fields, and strong experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of automation/controls experience in industrial settings.
• Strong troubleshooting with PLCs, HMIs, networking, and motion control.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls and automation activities for large-scale machinery and integrated systems (commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, testing, and customer acceptance).
• Serve as primary technical resource with customers, contractors and internal teams to ensure project success.
• Diagnose and resolve complex control, networking, and motion issues while minimizing downtime.
• Support warehouse automation, conveyors, material handling and routing systems for optimization.
• Manage project docs, schedules, risk, and technical communication across all phases.

Title: Automation & Controls Engineer

Location: Frisco, TX

Salary: $120,000

The Frisco operation serves as a key hub for automation, system integration, project execution, customer support, and field implementation activities across North America and international markets.

In this role, you will lead the successful implementation, troubleshooting, optimization, and customer-facing execution of complex automation and controls projects across high-performance industrial systems.

Job Duties:

• Lead controls and automation activities for large-scale machinery and integrated systems, including commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, testing, and customer acceptance.


• Serve as the primary technical resource during project execution, working directly with customers, contractors, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.


• Diagnose and resolve complex controls, networking, motion control, and system performance issues while minimizing downtime and maintaining project schedules.


• Support warehouse automation, conveyor, material handling, and intelligent routing systems through installation, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Manage project documentation, schedules, risk identification, and technical communication while maintaining visibility across all phases of project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.


• 5+ years of experience in automation, controls, system integration, material handling, conveyor systems, warehouse automation, or similar industrial environments.


• Strong troubleshooting experience with PLCs, HMIs, industrial networking, VFDs, motors, sensors, encoders, and integrated automation systems.


• Experience with Beckhoff controls and TwinCAT 3 strongly preferred; additional PLC platform experience is highly valued.


• Exceptional communication, customer-facing leadership, project management, and organizational skills, with the confidence to lead discussions, manage expectations, and drive projects to completion.
