Function: Supply Chain Engineering

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Improvement of Manufacturing Equipment: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to design new manufacturing equipment or modify existing equipment, adhering to regulatory, industry, and Johnson & Johnson standards.
  2. Project Management: Manage or support projects to meet business objectives in quality, finance, safety, and performance goals.
  3. Equipment Qualification: Coordinate and execute qualification processes for new or improved manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
  4. Quality and Safety Investigations: Lead or support investigations related to equipment issues, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
  5. Technology Evaluation: Evaluate new technologies to enhance process safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
  6. Reporting and Training: Prepare technical reports, project updates, and coordinate training for personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
  7. Asset Management: Analyze maintenance trends to support investment strategies for manufacturing assets.
  8. Capital Appropriation Requests: Organize and present Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) outlining project scope and funding needs.
  9. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all Federal, State, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures, including Johnson & Johnson’s environmental and safety guidelines.
  10. Leadership: Uphold Johnson & Johnson Standards of Leadership, emphasizing Credo Values, customer focus, innovation, problem-solving, and organizational development.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment, or an Advanced Degree (M.S.) with relevant internship or co-op experience.
  2. Preferred: Project management experience, PMP or similar credential, experience developing engineering documentation, familiarity with industrial control systems (PLC/DCS), servomotors, inspection and vision systems, instrumentation, SCADA networks, MES systems, programming/coding skills, experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or regulated industries, Lean or Six Sigma certification.
  3. Essential Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

Additional Information:

  • This position is primarily located in Cornelia, GA, with some onsite support in Athens, GA.
  • Approximately 10% domestic travel may be required.
