Job summary

Industrial Door Company in Northern California is seeking an Automatic Door Technician to install, repair, service, and maintain automatic doors and entrance systems across customer sites. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, strong tooling skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience installing or servicing automatic doors or similar systems.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently in field environments.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately complete service documentation and work orders.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work in non-climate-controlled environments.

Responsibilities

Our mission is to be recognized as the premier provider of commercial doors, glass, loading dock equipment, and automatic entrance systems throughout Northern California.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Automatic Door Technician to install, repair, service, and maintain automatic doors, automatic operators, ADA operators, and commercial entrance systems across a variety of customer sites. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, low-voltage, sensor, activation, and control-related issues while providing outstanding customer service and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.

In this role you will be responsible for…

• Installing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining automatic doors and entrance systems.
• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, low-voltage, sensor, activation, and control-related issues.
• Diagnosing equipment problems and recommending solutions to improve system performance.

• Completing service calls, work orders, and job documentation accurately and on time.
• Tracking parts, materials, and labor while coordinating with office support staff.

You’ve got what it takes if you have…

• 5+ years of experience installing or servicing automatic doors or similar systems, is ideal.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools, is required.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately complete service documentation and work orders.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
• Working at heights when necessary.
• Lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Working in indoor and outdoor environments, including non-climate-controlled conditions.

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday – Friday
• 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• On-call rotation approximately every six weeks
• Overtime and occasional weekend work as needed

Compensation

Pay ranging between $24 to $45 per hour, commensurate with experience.
