Qualifications

• 5+ years in software quality engineering or test automation.
• Strong Java skills with hands-on Selenium experience.
• Playwright experience (2+ years preferred).
• JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge.
• API test automation for REST and SOAP.
• Experience with TestNG/JUnit, Maven, Git, and SQL.
• CI/CD integration of automated tests (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Clear communication and troubleshooting skills.

Senior QA Automation Engineer (SDET)

Location: Greater Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Type: Contract

About the Opportunity

Our client, an established Boston-area organization, is looking for a senior automation engineer to help modernize its quality engineering practice. You will own automation improvements across a portfolio of business-critical web applications, help move testing earlier in the delivery cycle, and help the team evaluate how AI can make testing faster and smarter.

This is a hands-on senior role for someone who likes building frameworks, solving hard problems, and raising the bar for the people around them.

What You Bring

• 5+ years in software quality engineering or test automation
• Strong Java skills, with hands-on experience building and maintaining Selenium frameworks
• Real-world Playwright experience (2+ years preferred)
• Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript
• API test automation experience across REST and SOAP services
• Comfort with TestNG or JUnit, Maven, Git, and SQL
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar)
• Clear communication and strong troubleshooting skills

What You Will Do

• Design and extend reusable automation frameworks for complex web applications

• Plug automated quality gates into the release pipeline so defects are caught before production

• Mentor other engineers and help set automation standards
