Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. seeks a Machine Design Engineer – Automated Fastener Equipment for its Fullerton, CA facility.

The role focuses on designing, developing, and refining high-speed automated machinery used in fastener manufacturing and assembly. You will collaborate with manufacturing, process engineering, controls, and production teams to move concepts from design to prototype, build, and production launch.

Qualifications

• Design automated machinery for high-volume fastener production.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and GD&T.
• Experience with high-speed production environments.
• Collaborate with machinists and controls engineers.
• Ensure machine safety and guarding compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design high-speed automated machinery for fastener manufacturing.
• Develop layouts, tooling, and material-handling systems.
• Create 3D models, BOMs, and manufacturing docs.
• Integrate servo motors, sensors, PLCs, vision systems.
• Support assembly, debugging, FAT, and production launch.
• Perform troubleshooting and continuous-improvement.
