  • Automated Equipment Specialist maintains the integration of automated equipment with other systems, such as data networks, control and safety control systems, and software interfaces.
  • Utilize predictive maintenance techniques and leverage data from sensors and electronic devices to drive proactive maintenance activities and predict/prevent equipment failures.
  • Complete tasks that are more specialized than routine maintenance activities due to the modern automation technologies which include integrated data networks, control systems, and software interfaces.
  • Diagnose and repair intermediate-level automated equipment malfunctions, minimize equipment downtime to support production schedules, and collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams.
  • Optimize preventative maintenance activities, maintain accurate documentation, support new equipment installation and validation, proactively identify and communicate safety, quality, and productivity concerns, collaborate cross-functionally and across shifts to resolve issues, follow all EHS requirements, contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and work effectively with limited supervision.
Physical Attributes
  • Physical flexibility to interact with and troubleshoot machinery and equipment.
  • Exposure to chemical reagents.
  • Use hand and power tools.
  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying of 26 - 50 lbs.
  • Bend, squat, stoop, and kneel.
  • Pinch, grasp, and manipulate objects consistently and regularly.
  • Fine motor skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of automated manufacturing equipment maintenance or related experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years automated manufacturing equipment maintenance or related experience within an ISO certified or cGMP manufacturing environment.
  • Associate’s degree in mechanical/electrical technology or related technical field.
  • Intermediate Electro-Mechanical and controls knowledge along with experience applying this knowledge to process/equipment design and troubleshooting.
  • Proven mechanical, machine tool, and automated equipment repair skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to pass on-site mechanical and controls aptitude tests, mentor junior Automated Equipment Technicians, and apply robotics experience, including teaching and touch-up of robot points.
  • Become a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW), with knowledge of EHS, ISO, cGMP, and manufacturing regulations; ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and P&IDs; proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD; and experience following safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures.
