Job description

Job Description:
About the Team:

This role sits at the front line of AI adoption in Finance — auditing and shaping the controls that let automation scale safely. It offers broad exposure across Finance Operations and the opportunity to build practical AI-controls expertise at one of the world's most trusted business-information companies.

About the Role

As a key member of the Internal Audit team, the Automated Controls Audit Lead supports the planning and execution of AI audits and internal controls work, along with related initiatives and projects, across Finance Operations. The role evaluates both traditional control frameworks and automated, machine-learning-enabled systems, and assesses AI internal controls supporting business process improvement initiatives. The Lead supports ongoing compliance monitoring and drives the resolution of internal control inquiries and enhancements. Because the AI landscape shifts quickly, the role demands knowledge agility: continuously evaluating and integrating fast-changing AI capabilities and audit tooling into internal processes and controls, and communicating clearly with stakeholders across departments as the Finance organization adapts. You will report to the Manager, FMA, Compliance & Technical Accounting and be based in our New Jersey office.

You Will:
  • Evaluate controls over automated and AI-enabled processes — including model inputs and outputs, system-generated reports, and human-review checkpoints — alongside traditional controls.
  • Provide general audit support, including document retrieval, review, and research in response to internal and external audit requests.
  • Proactively manage the impact of AI-driven shifts on company controls and processes, identifying where control design must adapt before gaps emerge.
  • Continuously align process workflows, control documentation, and knowledge bases with rapid AI advancements throughout the company processes.
  • Lead and/or engage in business process improvement initiatives and projects as assigned, embedding appropriate controls into redesigned and automated processes.
  • Independently research and bring to resolution general compliance issues as they arise, escalating appropriately.
  • Compile, analyze, review, and research Finance Operations data to support issue resolution and AI-supported improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation of AI-related control decisions, changes, and remediation status.
You Have:
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience in audit, internal controls, compliance, or finance operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of auditing principles and standards and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, including the agility to apply them to AI-enabled processes.
  • Relevant background and understanding of finance operations processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve internal control and compliance issues.
  • Strong data analysis skills and demonstrated prior business process improvement experience.
  • Ability to quickly understand, interpret, and communicate business and technical issues; excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize a variety of systems and available and developing AI solutions; strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Professional certification or active pursuit thereof (CPA, CIA, CISA, or CRISC) (Preferred).
  • Working familiarity with AI risk and governance concepts and controls over automated processes (Preferred).
  • Experience in project coordination or management for systems implementations (Preferred).
  • Experience with financial systems modules (ERP, billing, or reporting platforms) (Preferred).
  • Familiarity with data and automation tools used in audit and controls work (e.g., advanced Excel, Alteryx, Power BI, or SQL) (Preferred).
