Job summary

DZ Corporation in The Villages, FL is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to oversee automated concrete block production. You will operate equipment, perform changeovers, and troubleshoot to maximize productivity while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The role requires reading production schedules, adhering to lockout/tagout and safety practices, and collaborating with maintenance and quality teams. Overtime may be needed; bilingual skills are welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment, preferably in concrete block production.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Columbia equipment and Tiger equipment.
• Ability to read production schedules and quality specifications.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and workplace safety practices.
• Forklift and heavy equipment experience is a plus.
• Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules when required.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and production optimization focus.
• Experience with preventive maintenance is a plus.
• Safety-focused mindset; Spanish speaking welcome.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated block plant equipment and production systems.
• Set up machinery for daily production schedules and product changeovers.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and operational issues.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with company specifications.
• Adjust machine settings to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality control, and production teams.
• Train and mentor less experienced operators as needed.
