Role Description The Autoglass Technician role at Glass America is a full-time, hybrid position based in Austin, TX, with some work-from-home tasks such as documentation and customer follow-up. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting vehicle glass damage, removing and installing windshields and other auto glass, and ensuring proper sealing and calibration according to safety standards. The technician communicates with customers about service needs, explains repair or replacement options, and completes work orders and digital records accurately. The role also involves maintaining tools and equipment, adhering to company safety procedures, and coordinating with the local team and dispatch to manage appointments and service times.

Qualifications

• Experience with auto glass installation, repair, and removal, including knowledge of adhesives, tools, and safety procedures.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with vehicle structures, trim, and calibration requirements for modern safety systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, complete accurate documentation, and use mobile or computer-based work order systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel locally for on-site customer service.
• Capacity to lift and maneuver glass and equipment safely, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Previous experience as an autoglass technician or in automotive service is preferred; industry certifications (e.g., NGA or equivalent) are a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; commitment to ongoing training and adherence to safety and quality standards.
