Job summary

Safety Kleen in Richmond, CA is seeking Autoclave Technicians to process medical waste using an autoclave and to support logistics including loading routes and preparing loads for shipment.

The role requires a HS diploma, forklift skills, and familiarity with Excel/Word. Typical shifts are days or evenings, Monday–Friday, with OT as needed. Health benefits start after 30 days of employment.

  • Forklift skills are required.
  • Experience with medical waste handling or sterilizing is a plus.

  • Operate an autoclave to process medical waste.
  • Load and unload route trucks.
  • Prepare waste loads for shipment to Recycling/Distribution Center.
  • Manage inventory order and receiving process.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Job description

Safety Kleen, located in Richmond, CA is seeking to add a team of Autoclave Technicians. The Autoclave Technicians will be responsible for processing medical waste in the medical processing side of the facility. This includes using an autoclave.

Pay: $25/HR to start.

Requirements: Hepatitis B vaccine- can complete after hire. $750 bonus after completion is available.

Shift: Need open availability to work either days or nights. 6:30am-3:00pm or 2:30pm-11:00pm. Monday-Friday. OT and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Operate an autoclave to process medical waste.
  • Load and unload route trucks.
  • Prepare waste loads for shipment to Recycle Center/Distribution Center.
  • Manage inventory order and receiving process.
  • General housekeeping and keeping a clean work area.
  • Ensure waste is stored in safe and proper manner.
Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Forklift skills are required.
  • Medical waste or sterilizing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience and familiarity with Excel, Word, etc.;
  • 1 plus years of related labor and computer experience preferred.
