CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to join our Power & Manufacturing - Electric Transmission Team at our Albany, NY; Atlanta, GA; Rochester, NY; Syracuse, NY office or working remotely.

This position offers fully remote capabilities; however, occasional on-site responsibilities may be required if you are located near a CHA office.

Your Impact

CHA's dedicated team of electric transmission and substation professionals prioritizes safety and technical excellence—from initial surveying and assessment to planning, permitting, research, and comprehensive design and engineering. We deliver top-tier solutions for both new and existing electrical power infrastructure, covering AC/DC, overhead/underground/submarine installations, indoor/outdoor applications, and insulation mediums (air, gas, liquid, solid) for transmission, distribution, and generation needs. Our expertise includes automation, SCADA, communication design, and engineering.

The AutoCAD Drafter assists with the research, preparation, and creation of various types of contract or construction drawings and documents. The professional collaborates with design teams on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual, and company requirements.

At CHA, the AutoCAD Drafter gains knowledge of engineering discipline standards, codes, and systems by assisting with contract document preparation. This individual examines drawings for errors and uses drawing production software (REVIT, AutoCAD, MicroStation, PLS-CADD, etc.) to create construction documents.

Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science or related technical field is required
  • No prior experience required; however, related document production experience preferred
  • Familiar with discipline-based software (REVIT, AutoCAD, MicroStation, PLS-CADD, etc.)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Strong work ethic and desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist senior staff
Salary Range

$30.00 - $32.00

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
