Job summary

AB Dynamics in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an Auto Test Technician to support vehicle maintenance, fabrication, and integration of robotic test platforms used in autonomous vehicle development.

Working in the Testing Services department, you will assist test engineers, fabricate mounts, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency in welding and light fabrication techniques.
• Familiarity with robotic platforms and test equipment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Test Engineers and test equipment, including mechanical and/or electrical repair and troubleshooting, preparing vehicles for testing, fabrication for specialized mounting brackets or parts, and instrumentation support.
• Assists with test vehicle shipment, inspection, and repairs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot robotic platforms and other testing equipment.
• Remove and replace bumper panels, airbags, vehicle brakes, and other vehicle components as needed
• Fabricate and weld various mounts and custom parts
• Safety Compliance: Ensures all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe work environment.
• Health, Safety and Workplace Responsibility: Incorporate safe work practices into daily activities and report hazards or injuries, adhere to policies, complete safety training, wear PPE.

Role Overview

Core Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Auto Test Technician include the following: Other duties may be assigned as requested.

• Supports the Test Engineers and test equipment, including mechanical and/or electrical repair and troubleshooting, preparing vehicles for testing, fabrication for specialized mounting brackets or parts, and instrumentation support.
• Assists with test vehicle shipment, inspection, and repairs.

  • Adhere to all company health and safety policies and procedures
  • Complete required safety training, attending scheduled meetings.
  • Using equipment properly, and wearing appropriate PPE as required (face covers, ear plugs, gloves etc.)

• Experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
• Proficiency in welding and light fabrication techniques
• Familiarity with robotic platforms and test equipment
• Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.

• Ability to collaborate in a team environment

Must be able to walk, bend, reach, and lift, if necessary 50 pounds or more.
