Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate is required.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, effective classroom practices, and professional development.
• Good public relations skills.
• Ability to understand the unique needs and learning characteristics of students.
• Meeting suitability criteria for employment and/or licensure under Alabama laws.
• Knowledge and use of education technology in instruction.
• Superior leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills; able to lead across multiple settings.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system vision, goals, and priorities.
• Maintain confidentiality of Board of Education business, staff, and students.
• Demonstrate and model regular and predictable attendance.
• Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and attitude at all times.
• Use technology for communication, presentations, research, data analysis, budgeting, and record keeping.
• Implement curriculum and programming aligned to student needs.
• Collaborate with coordinators, administrators, and counselors on instructional matters (504, RTI, IEPs, etc.).
• Collaborate on safety procedures following state and local guidelines.
• Participate in district/state meetings and professional development.
• Contribute to school improvement plans and accountability reporting.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and achievement.
• Supervise students and extracurricular activities as assigned.
