Job summary

CarMax in West Point, VA is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair and recondition vehicles to meet safety and quality standards. You’ll work with a skilled team in a climate-controlled facility, using advanced tools and ongoing training to grow your automotive skills.

You’ll handle engines, brakes, steering and suspension, with emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction. Prior experience and ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in inspecting and repairing engines, brakes, steering and suspension.
• Strong focus on health and safety compliance and quality standards.
• Able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Must have valid driver's license and ASE certifications per role.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet CarMax safety standards.
• Collaborate with a team to solve technical challenges quickly.
• Gain hands-on experience across domestic and foreign vehicles.
• Follow EH&S requirements and maintain a clean work area.
