Job summary

ABA Auto Repair Specialties is seeking a skilled Auto Technician to join our service team in Hillsboro, OR. You will perform automotive diagnostics and repairs, addressing engine, electrical, and drivability issues to bring vehicles back to peak performance.

The role requires hands-on experience with diagnostic tools, scope meters, and service manuals, plus your own basic hand and power tools. ASE certification is a bonus, and a clean driving record is required.

Qualifications

Proven hands-on experience as an auto mechanic or technician.
Proficiency with diagnostic scan tools, scope meters, and technical service manuals.
ASE certification is a plus, but not mandatory for experienced technicians.
Must possess your own basic set of hand and power tools (specialized equipment provided).
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical, electrical, and computer diagnostics to identify engine, transmission, drivability, and electrical issues.
Complete repairs on engine components, suspension, steering, brakes, exhaust, and heating/cooling systems.
Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, and preventive maintenance services.
Test drive vehicles pre- and post-repair to verify issues and confirm successful fixes.
Accurately document diagnostic findings, repairs performed, and parts needed on work orders while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
