GENERAL FUNCTION

Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance to keep all production equipment in optimal condition.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicate with Autotechs and operators about previous shift issues; diagnose complex equipment problems and coordinate repairs.
  • Calibrate and adjust equipment as needed.
  • Develop predictive maintenance procedures to optimize component lifespan and equipment performance.
  • Understand automation components such as pneumatics, electronics, sensors, and switches.
  • Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Review work orders and collaborate with operators to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Set up, test, and operate equipment to ensure proper functionality and analyze malfunctions.
  • Maintain logs of performance, repairs, and calibrations.
  • Calibrate testing instruments and repair equipment to specifications.
  • Consult with customers, supervisors, and engineers to resolve operational issues.
  • Advise on customer satisfaction, product performance, and improvements.
  • Ensure equipment complies with NEC and OSHA standards.
  • Operate within Utilities, Processing, and Packaging areas.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, applying LEAN principles.
  • Support daily maintenance and repair goals.
  • Update and create ISO documents such as SOPs, work instructions, POIs, and JSA's.
  • Assist in understanding real-time production data.
  • Reference safety and operational documents as needed.
  • Collaborate with Lead and Senior Autotech for equipment layout and system issues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Equivalent to an accredited electrical/electronics apprenticeship or 3-4 years' experience in the field.
  • Knowledge of control systems like PLC, Fanuc, Siemens, DCS, Wonderware, Intellution.
  • Strong electro-mechanical and automation skills.
  • Experience with CMMS and preventive maintenance software.
  • Familiarity with building maintenance software and TMS.
  • Knowledge of CI tools, adult learning principles, OEE, and TPM.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation's SLC and Control Logix using RSLogix 500/5000.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic and programming software for troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Leadership experience preferred.
