Job summary

NAVBASE San Diego's MWR Auto Skills Center seeks a team member to support operations, operate tire, brake, and alignment equipment, and balance tires and rotors. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and the ability to work independently while guiding customers through maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Combination of experience related to customer service and or recreation activity-based functions.
• Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities.
• Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and communicate effectively in writing and speech.
• Knowledge of goals, principles, techniques and procedures used in organizing leisure time activities.
• Knowledge of Navy MWR mission and Community Recreation activities’ scope and applicability.
• Knowledge of the functions, procedures, and operations of recreation activities.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain records, compile data for reports, and conduct research on recreation topics.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery including spring and strut compressor, brake lathe, tire and wheel machine, and tire balancing.
• Inspect and balance tires, rotors, and drums as part of the Auto Skills Center duties.
• Maintain safety for customers and report safety observations as required.
• Follow written and oral instructions and use computers and office procedures as needed.
