Job summary

Pep Boys in Humble, TX is seeking a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services, including oil changes, tire mounting/balancing, tire repairs, and vehicle inspections while delivering a great customer experience.

You will keep a clean, safe work area, assist fellow technicians, and advise customers on services as needed. A valid driver's license, HS diploma or GED, and willingness to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license.
• Passion for a career as a Technician in the automotive industry.
• Eager to learn and a drive to succeed.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay up-to-date with automotive technology.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
• Install headlights and other small bulbs.
• Repair flat tires.
• Install wiper blades.
• Stock and unload tires.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and clean shop.
• Adhere to company policy, safety and environmental rules.
