Job summary

Pep Boys / Mavis Tire in Portage, MI is seeking General Service Technicians to join Team Mavis at our automotive service centers. This is a full-time position with paid training and opportunities to grow within the company.

As a General Service Technician, you will perform tire mounting/balancing, oil changes, fluid checks, and basic vehicle maintenance while upholding safety and quality standards. Previous auto experience is not required; on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on automotive environment.
• Have a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality service.

Responsibilities

• Dismounting, mounting, rotating, and balancing tires.
• Performing flat tire repairs.
• Completing oil and filter changes.
• Checking and topping off vehicle fluids.
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Identifying visible tire and maintenance concerns.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Following established safety and service procedures.
• Helping ensure quality service and timely completion of customer vehicles.
