Zolman’s Best One Tire & Auto Care in South Bend, Indiana is seeking an experienced Automotive Repair Technician / Mechanic who values safety and teamwork.
Essential Functions
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic scan tools and equipment
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential problems and recommend repairs
- Replace suspension parts and perform alignments
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed and parts used
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance to Service Advisors, management, and customers
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols

Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Read ticket, perform work listed, write confirmation and recommendation
- Work in an environment not climate controlled; temperatures range from extremely hot to extremely cold, depending on the season
- Vision: Near, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception
- Sense of sound: Ringing telephones, alarms, horns and motorized equipment
- PPE: Wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, footwear)
Skills & Abilities
Education
- High school graduate or GED
Experience
- 2‑4 years’ experience as a mechanic in the tire and service industry
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems (engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems)
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Certifications / Licenses
- Valid driver’s license; driving record must meet company’s insurance requirements
Equipment
- Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment
