Job summary

CarMax in West Point, VA is seeking a Mechanical Associate to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition vehicles to meet safety and quality standards. You’ll work with a skilled team in a climate-controlled facility, using advanced tools and ongoing training to grow professionally.

Key duties include diagnosing engines, steering, suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with EH&S requirements, and delivering customer‑focused quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong health and safety compliance knowledge.
• Able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ASE certifications where required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet CarMax safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with a team to solve technical challenges quickly.
